Personal Statement
Since I can remember, sports played a big part in my life. Although my dad and brother were passionate golfers and I grew up in a family whose chat over most meals involved golf, in early years I instead opted for swimming, netball and hockey. However, I became curious about the game in 2016 when I was nearly 13 years of age and decided to ‘try it out’. I have since become a total convert and play golf with dedication and commitment. As a result, I am now playing off a current WHS handicap index of 9.5. My ambition is to bring it down below 5 in 2021 and to play off scratch or better by the time I enter the University.
Academically, I am on course to fulfill my ambition of becoming Dental Surgeon which I decided as it is a procession through which I would be able help others and express my artistic talents.
I am excited of the prospect of playing college golf as it would enable me make new friends and be a part of a team, travel throughout USA and experience new cultures. While I acknowledge that my chances of making it to highest echelons of competitive golf is limited due to late start and equal dedication to becoming a dentist, I am working hard with dedication to fulfil my ultimate aim of earning the playing rights for the LPGA tour.
