Personal Statement

I wish to succeed in my studies, whilst progressing my golfing ambitions.

I am currently completing 3 A Levels : Mathematics, Physics and Biology. My current predicted grades are A’s for all 3 subjects.

I am also completing an Extended Project Qualification. I am researching how different golf ball dimple patterns affect its spin & hence flight.

I’m also studying for a Diploma in Sporting Excellence with England Golf.

As well as enjoying academic challenges, I also enjoy the physical & mental challenges of golf.

This year, I’m striving to be a plus handicapper & to have a top 5 tournament finish.

I would like to attend an American University, with a proven academic and sporting record, where I can study subjects relating to my chosen A Levels & be an integral member of their Golf team.

I aspire to play at the highest level I can and feel I would thrive in USA College environment. This would provide the perfect opportunity for me to maximize my potential and play with like-minded people.

I believe my organizational skills (juggling school, golf and my job at TGI Fridays) will help me manage all aspects of College life successfully.

I view fitness as a key part of any golfing career, benefiting performance and helping to prevent injury, whilst having a positive impact on a player’s mental health. I have a structured daily work out plan, covering strength and agility.

I’m also a strong believer in using technology to help golfing performance. For example, I have access to Quintic, K Vest and GC Quad on a regular basis to help monitor & improve all aspects of my golf game.

The instant feedback of the numbers is extremely beneficial in helping me improve & monitor my swing & putting technique/performance.

Once I have completed my College degree, I would like to become a golf professional and play on the LPGA Tour. I view studying & playing College golf in The States as the ideal stepping stone for this ambition.
