Personal Statement
From a young age I have aspired to become a successful professional golfer on tour. I started playing golf aged six, then quickly moved onto the Nottinghamshire ‘Nippers’ Tour 2014, that year I also won ‘Squirrel of the Year’ at my local golf club along with Principles award at Tuxford Academy. I also won the Nottinghamshire team event at the Schools Golf Championships 2015. Eleven years on my passion continues, I enjoy being part of a team and the competitiveness that it brings. I am constantly learning on and off the golf course and I thrive when surrounded by members of my team all motivating each other.
I have also played local football for Retford United junior team where I enjoyed the team spirit and competitiveness. However I decided to fully concentrate on my passion, golf, and represented the Nottinghamshire Union of Golf Clubs – I have been part of the Notts team for 8 years.
I am a member of Retford Golf Club and my home club is Worksop Golf Club the grounding club of Lee Westwood.
I now realise that to achieve my dream of becoming a professional golfer will require lots of determination and constant hard work, something that I am prepared to put in. Hopefully my strong work ethic will give me the best possible chance to make my dream a reality.
I now want to improve my strength and abilities and play in as many tournaments as I can to improve my game. I attend my local gym to help develop my upper body strength, the gym also helps me focus and is good for my mental health.
I always give 100% and I want to succeed.
